On the 9th, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian in Beijing. Wang Yi said that both China and Singapore have important domestic political agendas this year, steadily advancing towards their respective national development goals. China is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Singapore, implement the new positioning of a comprehensive and high-quality forward-looking partnership jointly established by the leaders of the two countries, and make new contributions to regional peace, stability, and development. Both sides need to enhance the level of China ASEAN free trade arrangements, gather greater synergy and inject sustained momentum for promoting regional integration and economic globalization. The new Singapore government is willing to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China next year as an opportunity to prepare for high-level exchanges and expand all-round cooperation.
