On September 7th, the 11th China Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Vascular Disease Conference was held. The National Key Research and Development Program "Research on the Intervention of Cardiovascular Event Chain with the Guidance of the Mailuoshi Theory of Health and Wellness Theory" project, led by Professor Jia Zhenhua from Hebei Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, achieved a series of significant scientific research results. Four sub projects have been published in international medical authoritative journals. Academician Chen Xiangmei, President of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, emphasized in her speech that since Academician Wu Yiling founded the Vascular and Choroidal Disease Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in 2012 and held its first conference, research and academic exchanges in this field have continued to deepen, becoming an important branded academic conference. Under the leadership of Professor Jia Zhenhua, the current chairman, the project has not only conducted multi center and large-scale clinical research on the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, but also published multiple high-level SCI papers, achieving very gratifying results. Professor Jia Zhenhua delivered a keynote speech titled "Construction and Application of New Strategies for Cardiovascular Event Chain System Intervention" at the meeting, detailing the breakthrough progress of the project in cardiovascular event chain system intervention. He pointed out that cardiovascular diseases often develop in a chain like manner, and there is an urgent need to open up new avenues for systematic intervention. For this purpose, the project team has conducted in-depth research on the rules of diagnosis and treatment, efficacy mechanisms, and evidence-based medicine evaluation, and has achieved significant results. Theoretical innovation: Revealing the intervention and treatment rules of the cardiovascular event chain system based on the theory of health and wellness. Professor Jia Zhenhua stated that under the guidance of the theory of health and wellness constructed by Academician Wu Yiling's team, a multi-source medical case database of ancient and modern times was constructed based on key diseases in the cardiovascular event chain. Through multidimensional data mining and analysis, the intervention and treatment rules of the cardiovascular event chain system were revealed. The original viewpoint of "treating the root cause of the disease and preventing it before it occurs" proposed in this project, which includes preventing upstream factors, treating current lesions, and controlling downstream transmission, has laid a solid theoretical foundation for systematic intervention in the cardiovascular event chain. Mechanism exploration: Revealing the therapeutic mechanism of Tongluo drug system intervention in cardiovascular event chain. The project conducted a series of basic research using modern experimental techniques to reveal the mechanism of Tongluo drugs such as Jinlida, Tongxinluo, Shensong Yangxin, Qipi Qiangxin, etc. in "preventing upstream factors, treating current lesions, and controlling downstream transmission" system intervention in cardiovascular event chain. These studies reveal the key links, mechanisms, pathways, and targets of the intervention of the Tongluo drug system in the cardiovascular event chain, and also elucidate the scientific connotation of Tongluo drugs in "treating the root cause of the disease and preventing the disease before it occurs". Clinical verification: High quality evidence-based research has confirmed that the "Mailuo Theory and Yingwei Theory Guided System Intervention in Cardiovascular Event Chain" project has completed five high-quality evidence-based studies that follow international standards, including the intervention of Tongluo drugs in metabolic syndrome with multiple metabolic abnormalities, vulnerable coronary plaques, acute myocardial infarction, recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation, and chronic heart failure. The research results show that meridian drugs such as Jinlida, Tongxinluo, Shensong Yangxin, and Qipi Qiangxin have significant advantages in reducing the risk of cardiovascular events and improving prognosis. The acceptance expert group composed of professors Yang Baofeng, Jia Weiping and Tian Jinzhou, academicians of the CAE Member, spoke highly of the project. They believed that "the organization and management were standardized, and a major breakthrough was made in the chain of cardiovascular events intervened by the traditional Chinese medicine system, becoming a model of integrated traditional and western medicine research!"
