The Zhongjin Stone Carving Art Exhibition "Shanhai Meets Stone Rhyme and Sounds" was unveiled on September 3rd at the China Century Altar Art Museum in Beijing. This stone carving art exhibition showcases more than 100 stone carvings from China and Tianjin, and the exhibition will last until September 10th. At the opening ceremony, the documentary "The Cross temporal Dialogue of Stonemasons" co produced by China and Tianjin was released. In the film, two carving artists from Zimbabwe and Quyang, known as the "hometown of carving" in China, engage in dialogue and exchange on artistic achievements, inheritance and innovation, and cultural mutual learning. At the opening ceremony, both China and Tianjin exchanged stone carving artworks symbolizing their traditional friendship, such as "Silk Road Blossoms" and "Dragon and Lion Dance". In his speech, Zimbabwe's Minister of Information, Communications and Post, Tatinda Maweitra, stated that the Zimbabwean government recognizes the important role that culture plays in transforming society and cultivating strong values. Cultural exchange and dialogue among civilizations will further promote mutual understanding and pragmatic cooperation between Zimbabwe and China, and advance the development of bilateral relations to a higher level. Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding stated in a media interview that the China Zimbabwe Stone Carving Art Exhibition coincides with the 2024 Forum on China Africa Cooperation Summit, and is a feast for the exchange of stone carving art between China and Zimbabwe, reflecting the fruitful achievements of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
