Jilin No.1 "Global Map Released
2024-09-04
Recently, the high-definition remote sensing map captured by the "Jilin-1" satellite, which is a global map, was released in Changchun, Jilin. This map can provide global high-definition satellite remote sensing data and application services for users in various industries, with resolution, timeliness, and positioning accuracy all reaching international leading levels. The global map of "Jilin-1" released this time is made from 1.2 million selected images from 6.9 million satellite images of "Jilin-1". The cumulative coverage area of this map reaches 130 million square kilometers, achieving full sub meter level image coverage of global land areas except for Antarctica and Greenland. The proportion of images with a resolution of 0.5 meters used in this image exceeds 90%, and the coverage of temporal images in 2023 exceeds 95%. The overall cloud cover is less than 2%, taking into account high spatial resolution, high temporal resolution, and high coverage. With the characteristics of high image quality, fast update speed, and wide coverage area, the "Jilin-1" global map can be used for business applications in various fields such as environmental protection, forestry supervision, and natural resource investigation, which is of great significance for building a refined remote sensing application service system. It is reported that the R&D team has overcome key technologies such as intelligent data screening with multiple coverage, large-scale geometric correction, and apparent consistency processing. They have deeply integrated large-scale satellite data production with cluster scheduling, resulting in a 60% increase in production efficiency compared to traditional methods, ensuring the production speed and image quality of the "Jilin-1" global map. Nowadays, the "Jilin-1" constellation has 108 operational satellites in orbit, building the world's largest sub meter commercial remote sensing satellite constellation. This also provides a massive source of high-definition remote sensing data for the annual update of the "Jilin-1" global map. (New Society)
