The 2024 China Indonesia Media Forum will be held in Beijing on the 2nd. Representatives from dozens of mainstream media organizations and think tanks from China and Indonesia conducted in-depth discussions on the theme of "Responsibilities and Challenges of Media in the New Era". In his speech at the forum, Indonesian Ambassador to China Zhou Haoli reviewed the rapid development of exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia in areas such as trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. He affirmed the positive role played by the media of both countries in enhancing mutual trust and promoting cooperation, and encouraged media professionals from both countries to continue exploring new stories and creating a more harmonious atmosphere between ASEAN and China, as well as between Indonesia and China. Tong Xiaoling, Vice President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, stated that the media plays an important role in the field of public diplomacy between the two countries. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the publication of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and next year marks the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference. We believe that China and Indonesia will carry forward their historical traditions, improve global governance, promote regional development, defend the common interests of the global South, and deepen and solidify the China Indonesia community of shared future. Arifin, Chairman of the Indonesian Editor in Chief Forum, believes that in the information age, traditional media is facing the impact and challenges of new media and urgently needs to transform. Traditional mainstream media can use social media platforms to deliver accurate and reliable information, while optimizing business models and establishing a sustainable news ecosystem. This forum is hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and the Indonesian Editor in Chief Forum. After the opening ceremony, two sub forums were held.
