The series report "Cultural China Tour" visited Liangzhu today to experience the 5000 year old Chinese civilization. This summer, over 400000 tourists from all over the country have visited Liangzhu Ancient City and gained insights into over 5000 years of Chinese civilization. You can also experience the magical journey of traveling through history, where cultural relics and scenes come to life through wearable devices at Liangzhu Museum and Smart Experience Hall. The Liangzhu Site is a testament to the 5000 year history of Chinese civilization and a treasure of world civilization. Since its discovery in 1936, Liangzhu has gradually shown the world a comprehensive and authentic portrayal of ancient and modern China over the past 80 years. A series of jade artifacts symbolizing faith and system have been unearthed from the Mausoleum of Prince Yashan, including the largest individual to date, the Jade Cong King, weighing 6.5 kilograms. At the Chizhong Temple site, nearly 200000 kilograms of charred rice remains were discovered, demonstrating the abundant grain reserves and developed rice agriculture in Liangzhu. In 2007, Liangzhu Archaeology ushered in a new era and officially confirmed the discovery of the large-scale Liangzhu Ancient City. The inner city covers an area of 2.8 million square meters, with 8 water gates among the 9 city gates. The ancient city is densely covered with rivers that extend in all directions. The water conservancy system around Liangzhu Ancient City, which has been discovered to irrigate an area of over 100 square kilometers, has become the earliest known large-scale water conservancy project in China and even the world. Wang Ningyuan, the person in charge of the Liangzhu Archaeological Project: In recent years, we have discovered a long ridge between this dam and the ancient city, which may be closely related to the water conservancy system and the structure of the Liangzhu ancient city. The peripheral water conservancy system of Liangzhu has solved the comprehensive functions of flood control, transportation, and water diversion, further revealing the extraordinary wisdom of Liangzhu people 5000 years ago in adapting to nature, seeking benefits and avoiding harm, and building a super city on this wetland plain. In 2011, Liangzhu was officially established as one of the first national archaeological site parks in China. In 2019, the site of Liangzhu Ancient City was successfully listed in the The World Heritage List, demonstrating the history of Chinese civilization for more than 5000 years. Recently, with the empowerment of digital technology, the 24-hour online "Heritage Monitoring and Early Warning System" has officially been put into operation at the Liangzhu Site. With the help of sensors installed in soil and air, monitoring indicators of the site's physical condition, natural environment, social environment, and other aspects are displayed one by one. Through deep integration and intelligent analysis, comprehensive digital management and protection are achieved. Wang Shu, Director of the Hangzhou Liangzhu Site Management Committee: With the cultural mission of the new era, we stand at a new historical starting point to safeguard, showcase, and inherit the Liangzhu culture. By utilizing cutting-edge technological means, we strive to showcase the cultural connotations carried by cultural relics and fully demonstrate the cultural essence of Chinese civilization. Make Liangzhu an important source for people to gain cultural confidence. (New Society)
