On the 29th, the main event of the 2024 Surveying and Mapping Law Promotion Day and National Map Awareness Promotion Week was held in Chongqing. At the meeting, a ceremony was held to launch the establishment of a national satellite navigation and positioning reference station network, marking the establishment of a unified national surveying and mapping reference service platform in China and further enhancing the country's real-time surveying and mapping reference service capabilities. Satellite navigation and positioning reference stations are the infrastructure of the national modern surveying and mapping reference system. While maintaining the unified national coordinate framework, they can provide real-time sub meter level navigation and positioning services to the public, as well as centimeter level and even millimeter level positioning services to professional users. At present, China has built a network consisting of more than 3300 benchmark stations across the country Chen Changsong, Director of the National Basic Geographic Information Center, introduced that by integrating the satellite navigation positioning reference station resources of the national natural resource system, a preliminary network service platform has been constructed, which realizes the unified site management, collection and storage, quality analysis, sharing and exchange of national reference station resources, and can provide unified registration, seamless roaming and collaborative services for users nationwide. At present, the national satellite navigation and positioning benchmark station network service has been put into trial operation, providing a unified national surveying and mapping benchmark service for various surveying and mapping activities. While promoting the large-scale application of Beidou, it also assists in the construction of the digital economy and provides high-precision, fast, and real-time navigation and positioning service support for resource investigation, intelligent transportation, unmanned driving, precision agriculture, public life, social governance, etc. Zhou Xing, Director of the Land Surveying and Mapping Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, stated that in the next step, we will establish a new generation of national surveying and mapping benchmark system, expand the scope of data sharing on a single network, improve service accuracy and scale service capabilities, and encourage support for social location services based on a single network.
