Artificial Intelligence Hospital "Released in Shanghai, Empowering New Models of Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment with Top Expert Resources and AI

2024-08-29

The new quality productivity represented by artificial intelligence technology is driving the innovation of the medical industry at an unprecedented speed. Recently, at the 2024 Cancer Precision Treatment and Intelligent Management New Progress Summit Forum hosted by the Big Health Special Committee of the Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Business Innovation Research Institute, Weiyi Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Hospital and Tumor Life Cycle Intelligent Management Platform were released. This is the first artificial intelligence hospital in China, and the "Intelligent Diagnosis Center for Difficult Diseases - Tumor Specialty" project was launched at the same time, providing intelligent and precise full course management services for cancer patients nationwide. This is the first AI application result of single disease full life cycle management, which was jointly promoted by the Shanghai Digital Medicine Innovation Center and Weimi in December last year to land after the construction of the National Intelligent Diagnosis Center for Difficult Diseases. Malignant tumor has become the primary cause threatening the life and health of our people. According to recent data released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), population based projections indicate that the number of new cancer cases will reach 35 million by 2050. The situation of cancer in our country is also not optimistic. The construction of the national intelligent triage center for difficult diseases and the six disease co management center for the whole life cycle, which have already been established, first focuses on the single disease of tumors, exploring the application of artificial intelligence technology in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult tumors and the management of the entire course of tumors. The "Intelligent Diagnosis Center for Difficult Diseases - Tumor Specialty" released this time is based on a database of over a million tags, an intelligent symptom analysis system, and an online multidisciplinary consultation system. It can quickly match targeted experts for patients and develop personalized plans, providing precise referral channels. The "Tumor Whole Course Intelligent Management Platform" relies on AI enabled digital whole course management tools, and provides patients with full process tumor case management services covering pre hospital, in-hospital, and post hospital stages through a cross team collaboration model of "health management professionals+responsible expert teams". At present, the relevant services have been launched on the Weiyi App. Empowered by artificial intelligence, patients can access high-quality medical resources faster and more accurately on the platform. Among them, the Intelligent triage center for difficult diseases is led by Professor Peng Shukuan from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Professor Yan Lunan, a lifelong professor at West China Hospital, a well-known expert in liver surgery, and Professor Ni Quanxing, a leading expert in pancreatic surgery at Fudan University Cancer Hospital. It brings together renowned expert teams from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital, Huashan Hospital, Renji Hospital, Cancer Hospital, Municipal First Hospital, East China Hospital, as well as West China Hospital, Zhejiang University Affiliated Hospital and other well-known expert teams in Shanghai and across the country. Professor Shen Boyong, Vice President of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Director of Pancreatic Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, said that the ultimate mode of cancer treatment is to find and open up the mechanism of all tumors, and conduct full life cycle management with people as the center. "Therefore, AI technology has a broad application scenario in the medical field. For example, through big data analysis, screen out early pancreatic cancer from high-risk groups, achieve a new breakthrough from diagnosis to treatment, develop personalized precision treatment programs, and at the same time empower more grassroots doctors with the clinical experience of large experts. The development of AI will strongly promote the future research of the entire medical science." "On the micro medical platform, 2.8 million tumor patients have sought medical advice online in the past decade. Thanks to the Internet, artificial intelligence and other technologies, it can better break the asymmetry of medical resource information, let patients avoid detours, and enjoy the optimal treatment scheme, optimal course management and optimal cost performance." Zhang Qunhua, Executive Director of Micro medical AI Research Institute and President of Micro medical Shanghai AI Hospital, said that medical and AI integration has become an industry trend.
