2024-08-23
According to the official WeChat account of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, in order to effectively purify the order of the capital's tourism market, the Beijing police have relied on the summer public security crackdown and rectification action to organize relevant police departments of criminal investigation, internet security, environmental food, medicine and tourism, as well as Dongcheng, Haidian, Tiananmen and other public security bureaus to establish a special team. The team will focus on the issue of "scalpers" illegally seizing and reselling tourist attractions, scenic spots, and key university tickets (reservation quotas) that have been strongly reported by the public, conduct comprehensive online and offline investigations, and carry out special investigations and crackdowns throughout the entire chain. Since the summer, a total of 62 people have been criminally detained and 117 people have been administratively detained, making every effort to maintain social order and tourism environment in the capital. The typical case report is as follows: Case 1: The work of cracking down on the case of using illegal software to seize and sell tickets to popular tourist attractions found that Wang (male, 40 years old) and others illegally seized tickets (reserved quotas) to popular tourist attractions through software. The police immediately carried out investigation and evidence collection work. On July 23, with the support and cooperation of the public security organs in Xiamen, Fujian Province, Wang and 8 others were arrested. After examination, Wang, together with his wife Wu (female, 32 years old), opened an online shop on the Internet platform through a registered ticketing agency and travel agency, and solicited "looting" business at a price ranging from 88 yuan to 238 yuan, making illegal profits from it. At present, Wang and 8 others have been criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law, and the case is still under further investigation. Case 2: Cracked down on the case of selling tickets to popular tourist attractions under the cover of operating a travel agency. During the investigation and visits, the police found that a certain tourism company was reselling reserved spots for popular tourist attractions through an online store. After investigation and evidence collection, on August 16th, with the support and cooperation of the public security organs in Sanhe City, Hebei Province, the police dismantled a criminal gang led by Xu (female, 41 years old) and Zhou (male, 30 years old). After preliminary examination, the gang, under the cover of travel agencies, created tourism products in stores on multiple Internet platforms to attract customers, organized gang members to seize tickets (reserved seats) of popular scenic spots in batches through various ways, and sold them for profit. At present, 12 people including Xu have been criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law, and the case is under further investigation. The Beijing police insist on "zero tolerance" for illegal and criminal activities that damage the city's image and tourism order, resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of tourists, and continue to crack down on illegal activities such as "scalpers" illegally seizing and reselling scenic spot tickets in accordance with the law.
