HEPS is the first fourth generation synchrotron radiation light source in China and Asia, and one of the world's first light sources with a natural emissivity of 10 picometers. Its core is a new storage ring accelerator with extremely low emissivity, and its physical design is extremely challenging. The synchrotron radiation emitted by HEPS has unique and excellent properties such as high stability, high flux, microbeam diameter, and quasi coherence. Since startup, the HEPS accelerator beam tuning team has been continuously tuning 24 hours a day. On August 18th, the storage ring successfully stored 35 beam clusters with a current intensity of 12 milliamps. This indicates that the early equipment installation and debugging were very successful, and also marks a new stage for HEPS light sources. In the coming months, the HEPS beam tuning team will continue to work hard and strive to launch the first beam of light and put it into application within the year. HEPS is one of the major national scientific and technological infrastructure projects that China will prioritize during the 13th Five Year Plan period.
