On August 14th, the International Academic Conference on the Migration and Diffusion of Paleoanthropology in the Pleistocene Eurasian Continent was held in Daocheng County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The reporter learned from the meeting that the earliest age of the Daocheng Piluo site is over 200000 years ago, which means that humans had already reached the eastern edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau no later than 200000 years ago.
As early as 2021, experts believed that the age of the third layer of the Pirlo site had reached at least 130000 years, and the age of the lower cultural layer would be even older, possibly reaching around 200000 years. After years of excavation and research work, this conclusion has finally been confirmed: the time when ancient humans landed on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau has been pushed back to 200000 years ago.
The rich and continuous remains prove that the Qinghai Tibet Plateau is not a place isolated from the world. The activity intensity of ancient humans in the plateau area was much greater than previously expected, and it was a hotspot for early cultural exchange among populations.
