In the first half of this year, China's light industry production grew rapidly, the consumer market steadily expanded, and the industrial structure continued to optimize and upgrade, providing strong support for the stable growth of the industrial economy. The latest data from the China Light Industry Federation shows that in the first half of this year, the added value of light industries above designated size increased by 5.3% year-on-year. On the production side, among the 91 major light industrial products counted by the National Bureau of Statistics, 66 products achieved an increase in output, with a growth rate of 72.5%. Among them, the output of 18 products such as air conditioning and solar cells maintained double-digit growth, with stable production growth. On the consumer side, in the first half of the year, the retail sales of 11 categories of light industry goods reached nearly 3.8 trillion yuan, accounting for 15.9% of the total retail sales of consumer goods in society, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. Meanwhile, light industry exports maintain resilience. Among them, the growth rate of household appliances, furniture, and other products has exceeded 10%, and the scale of domestic and foreign trade markets has steadily expanded.
