The Chinese Embassy in the United States recently collaborated with local art institutions to hold a youth concert celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. More than 200 representatives from the US political, business, and cultural circles, some countries' ambassadors to the US, and young students from China and the US attended. At the concert held by the Chinese Embassy in the United States on the 9th, more than 40 young musicians from China and the United States presented classic songs such as "Butterfly Lovers," "Mamma Mia," and "Me and My Motherland" to the audience. Guests can experience traditional Chinese culture such as Hanfu fitting and woodblock printing before and after the concert, and watch cultural and tourism promotional videos such as "Hello! China". They left beautiful wishes for the friendship between China and the United States on the wish wall one after another. The American soprano singer Klee Holahan (Chinese name Kelly He) who participated in the singing of "Me and My Country" lived in China for ten years and can speak fluent Chinese. He Kaili told Xinhua News Agency that she went to China for exchange during her university years and was exposed to Chinese folk songs. Later, she returned to China to continue studying Chinese folk songs. During this process, she gained a deep understanding of Chinese culture, ethnic minorities, and history. She hopes that more Americans like her will come to China to experience, make Chinese friends and understand the real China. Daniel Liu, the head of the Department of Music at Adventist University in Washington, D.C., expressed his pleasure at seeing the strengthening of exchanges between young people from the United States and China in the field of music. Such exchanges can highlight the similarities between the two peoples and are crucial for promoting the development of bilateral relations. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Jing Quan said that the future of China US relations lies in the youth, and the key to the healthy development of China US relations lies in action. Music has built a bridge of communication and understanding for the Chinese and American people to understand each other. Welcome everyone to actively participate in various Sino US youth exchange and cooperation projects, promote the inheritance of Sino US friendship through practical actions, and promote the sustained and stable development of Sino US relations.
