Recently, the opening ceremony of the "2024 China Film Week" jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congolese National Radio and Television Station was held in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. More than 300 political figures, including the Minister of Information and Media and Government Spokesperson of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Muya Ya, Minister of Culture, Elibe, Minister of Tourism, Mpanbia, Deputy Minister of the Interior, Teixeira, local cultural figures, youth representatives, as well as representatives of Chinese funded institutions and overseas Chinese in the Democratic Republic of Congo, attended the event. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Muaya said that the Chinese civilization has a long history of 5000 years, and the film week activities provided a good opportunity for the Congolese people to understand Chinese culture and understand the common values of the two peoples. Congo looks forward to attending the Forum on China Africa Cooperation summit and is willing to work with China to continue implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and to support each other on the path of development and revitalization. Zhao Bin, China's ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, said that Chinese films vividly reflect China's style of the times, carry the Chinese people's spiritual qualities of love for the motherland, selfless dedication, solidarity and fraternity, and believe that they will resonate deeply with local audiences. In addition, China is willing to share with Congo the development dividends brought about by comprehensively deepening reforms and high-level opening-up, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. The theme of this year's Film Week is "China Congo Friendship: Common Values, One Future". The first channel of the Democratic Republic of Congo National Radio and Television Station plans to screen Chinese films such as "Me and My Fathers", "Changjin Lake", and "Peak Explosion" from August 6th to 12th.
