The Qiankai Tunnel in Peru, constructed by China Railway Tenth Bureau, was completed on the 5th. According to Qin Jihua, the construction manager of the Peru project of China Railway Tenth Bureau, the Qiankai Tunnel is 1839 meters long and is a two-way three lane tunnel with a designed speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The tunnel passes through several geological faults, requiring high construction technology and safety control. To ensure the timely completion of the tunnel, the project team continuously accelerated the construction progress, creating a new record for large-span tunnel construction abroad and demonstrating the professional ability and efficient execution of the project team. According to reports, the Qiankai Tunnel project is a key supporting project for the highly anticipated Qiankai Port in Peru. Qiankai Port is located in the Qiankai Bay north of Lima, the capital of Peru. It is controlled and invested by Chinese enterprises. It is a cooperative project of the "the Belt and Road" jointly built by China and Peru. After completion, it will become a new hub port in Latin America and a gateway port in the Pacific, which can significantly shorten the direct flight time from Peru to Asia. (New Society)
