Since the promulgation and implementation of the Overall Plan for the Western Land Sea New Corridor 5 years ago, the cumulative transportation of goods by rail sea intermodal trains on the Western Land Sea New Corridor has exceeded 3.1 million TEUs. On August 2nd, the X9586 Western Land Sea New Channel Iron Sea Intermodal Train, loaded with goods such as cassava starch from Thailand, departed from Qinzhou Port East Station in Guangxi and headed towards Sichuan. Since the beginning of this year, the new channel has added 5 scheduled train routes, and the transportation volume of sugar and auto parts by sea has increased by 43% and 69% respectively year-on-year. The Western Land Sea New Corridor is located in the hinterland of western China, connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt to the north and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road to the south, and synergistically linking with the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
