On the evening of the 30th, the Chongchuan District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Nantong City issued a situation report regarding the case of a chef at the Guanyin Mountain Garden Hotel in Nantong, Jiangsu Province adding gentamicin to their head dishes to prevent customer diarrhea, stating that the judicial authorities have lawfully pursued criminal responsibility against those who have committed crimes. The report stated that the case was discovered on site by the Chongchuan District Market Supervision Administration in September 2023, in conjunction with the public security department, after receiving reports from the public. The hotel involved has had its Food Business License revoked in accordance with the law and has been fined. The qualifications of hotel operators and relevant responsible persons have been legally restricted. The judicial authorities have lawfully pursued criminal responsibility against individuals who have committed crimes. The Chongchuan District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau stated that after the incident, the bureau immediately drew lessons from it, carried out comprehensive investigations and rectification, and strictly cracked down on illegal food and beverage additives in accordance with the law.
