American business people look forward to more opportunities for Sino US cooperation

2024-07-31

The China US Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum was held in New York City on the 29th, with over 300 representatives from Chinese and American companies and business associations in attendance. American business people have expressed their hope to actively explore cooperation opportunities through this platform. Jonathan Webb, co-founder and co CEO of Packable, an American e-commerce company, told Xinhua News Agency during the forum that 90% of the products sold online by the company, from selfie sticks to beauty wax melting machines, from magnetic puzzles to electric vehicle charging stations, come from China. He said that China has a lot of technological innovation and hopes to use the China US Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum to negotiate with Chinese e-commerce platforms and find more opportunities for cooperation. Robert Garland is a Native American merchant from North Carolina who once lived in the Chinese city of Xiamen. Garland told reporters that due to global supply chain disruptions in recent years, the cost of living for Native American communities in the United States is relatively high, and more cooperation with Chinese suppliers is needed. Garland said that the forum activities have enabled Americans to better understand the current state of China's technological development and see many potential business opportunities from it. Garland also encourages Americans to visit China, understand the real China, and eliminate misconceptions about China. Jesse Weiner, Managing Partner of Yingke US Law Firm, stated that the commercial and cultural ties between China and the United States are closely connected. Many American companies want to open up the Chinese market, and many Americans also hope to sell their products on Chinese e-commerce platforms. There are many opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and we hope to continue on a positive trajectory. (New Society)
