Both countries can match heritage sites with similar characteristics. In 2019, China and Italy decided to carry out twinning cooperation projects between the West Lake in Hangzhou and the old city of Verona in Italy, and the cultural landscape of Hani Terrace in the Hani terraced fields of Honghe State in Yunnan, and the landscape of Langueiro and Montferrato vineyards.
