The report points out that the procuratorial organs in Guangdong Province severely punish crimes that damage marine environmental resources in accordance with the law. From 2021 to May 2024, a total of 53 criminal cases involving 107 people were arrested and 262 criminal cases involving 504 people were prosecuted. The report shows that from 2021 to May 2024, the procuratorial organs in Guangdong Province filed and handled 1038 public interest litigation cases related to marine ecological environment and resource protection, and actively promoted 674 relevant administrative organs to perform their duties through procuratorial suggestions and consultations; 204 civil public interest litigation pre litigation notices were issued; For public welfare damage issues that cannot be resolved before litigation, we adhere to the guidance of judicial value through the confirmation of "litigation", and have filed 134 public welfare lawsuits with the court, requesting compensation for marine ecological environment damage and obtaining court support of 32.55 million yuan. We have also urged the cleanup of 10403 tons of solid waste, involving an area of about 280000 acres of sea, and 7 cases of marine public welfare litigation have been rated as national typical cases. In addition, the procuratorial organs of Chaozhou City and Shantou City have focused on the long-standing problems of illegal hanging and "white pollution" in marine aquaculture, urging the clearance of illegal aquaculture and promoting the ecological transformation of marine aquaculture; The Yangdong District Procuratorate of Yangjiang City urges relevant departments to comprehensively manage and plan reasonably, promote the healthy development of the oyster row aquaculture industry at the estuary within the ecological capacity range, and help the Shouchanghe National Wetland Park pass the pilot acceptance smoothly.
