These stories and historical materials are witnesses to the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam. I hope that future generations can remember, praise, and cherish the friendship between China and Vietnam, "said Nong Xiuchen, a 91 year old border resident from Longzhou County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi in an interview on July 25th. Longzhou is located on the border between China and Vietnam. From the 1920s to the 1940s, the older generation of Vietnamese leaders Ho Chi Minh and other Vietnamese revolutionaries used Longzhou County and other places as overseas revolutionary activity bases, engaged in revolutionary activities for a long time, and formed deep friendships with the Chinese people, leaving behind many touching stories. The Ho Chi Minh Pavilion located in the county witnesses the inheritance of friendship between the younger generation of China and Vietnam. On July 25th, 91 year old Nong Xiuchen continued to write. Nong Xiuchen, a farmer from Nonglin, was exposed to local folk stories from a young age. Since 1958, as a primary school teacher, he began to excavate and organize folk stories in Longzhou. He visited figures such as Nong Qizhen and Lin Futing, who had helped and protected Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese revolutionaries, and collected many stories and precious cultural and historical materials related to Sino Vietnamese friendship. The folk stories passed down from generation to generation on the Sino Vietnamese border are rich and colorful. Recording them is to bring joy, inspiration, and cognition to future generations Looking back at the original intention of creating back then, Nong Xiuchen said so. Due to inconvenient transportation and limited information at that time, in order to collect stories, Nong Xiuchen often crossed dozens of miles of mountain roads on foot to enter the village. Often, he spent the whole day collecting and stayed overnight at a fellow villager's house when he couldn't return home at night. From oral transmission to written writing; From scattered in rural fields to being widely circulated by people from all walks of life. Nong Xiuchen has always adhered to the principle of "faithful recording and careful organization", and has created many stories of Sino Vietnamese friendship, such as "Ho Chi Minh sworn allegiance to" Lao Tong "," Chinese people are so good "," Smart rescue of Uncle Hu "," Village girl He Sixian ", and" Nong Fengliu will always live in the hearts of the Vietnamese people ". During this time, what impressed Nong Xiuchen the most was when he interviewed Lin Futing and told the story of his wife He Sixian, who supported Vietnamese revolutionaries with all her income from business. At the age of 28, He Sixian passed away due to illness. Before her death, she instructed her husband to continue supporting Vietnamese comrades and carry out the revolution to the end. Lin Futing asked me to write this story, so that future generations will remember the arduous history and the deep friendship between the two peoples In Nong Xiuchen's view, these folk stories are not just simple written records, but witnesses to history, the inheritance of culture, and the continuation of spirit. In February, Nong Xiuchen went to Shangjiang Township in Longzhou County to collect wind. Due to his passion for writing, Nong Xiuchen gradually transformed from a primary school teacher to a cultural worker, working in the cultural department of Longzhou County. As a member of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, he edited works such as "Longzhou County Story Collection", "Longzhou County Ballad Collection", "Longzhou County Proverbs Collection", etc., and received commendations from the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and the former Ministry of Culture of China. Now in his prime, Nong Xiuchen's love and persistence for folk literature remain unchanged. Due to limited mobility, he asked his son to drive him into the village and visit households to gather information; It was inconvenient to submit the manuscript, so he wrote it by hand and asked his son to help input it into the computer. I will continue on this path of creation until the day when I can no longer walk. Let the story of Sino Vietnamese friendship be passed down from generation to generation and last forever Nong Xiuchen said. (New Society)
