In recent days, young "ticket enthusiasts" from both sides of the Taiwan Strait have been singing Chinese opera "Qing" and "Li" together on stage in Taizhou, Jiangsu, the hometown of Mei Lanfang. On the morning of the 25th, Taiwanese university students performed a selection of Kunqu opera classics at the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall in Taizhou. On the evening of the 24th, the "Mei Yun Qianqiu · Flowing Fragrance Across the Taiwan Strait" Mei Lanfang Art and Culture Week event opened in Taizhou. At the opening ceremony, three Taiwanese young men and lecturer Mao Huamei from the School of Music at Taizhou University performed "Talking about Taizhou" using modern rap and Mei style singing. Out of a shared interest in Chinese opera, three Taiwanese young men crossed over to create the show 'Talking about Taizhou'. Among them, lyricist Zang Yongrong is a PhD student at Tamkang University in Taiwan, composer Xu Yanshuo works for a cultural media company in mainland China, and MV producer Xue Zihan has already attempted entrepreneurship in various fields in mainland China. The three of them had the idea of creating "A Tale of Taizhou" by chance, and eventually collaborated with mainland professional opera teacher Mao Huamei to perform on stage. So the idea of integrating rap and opera emerged among us," said Zang Yongrong. Mao Huamei stated that although there were some minor issues encountered during the integration process, such as attempting to innovate the selection of segments for "Farewell My Concubine", due to the limitations of the design, it ultimately remained in its current form. However, I believe there will be more attempts at integration in the future. "On the morning of the 25th, the" Mei Xiang Cross Strait · Beijing Rhyme Transmission "cross-strait Mei Lanfang Peking Opera art exchange event was held at the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall in Taizhou. On the morning of the 25th, the "Mei Xiang Cross Strait, Jing Yun Transmission of Love" cross-strait Mei Lanfang Peking Opera art exchange event was held at the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall in Taizhou. Young opera enthusiasts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait exchanged performances on stage, and students from National Taiwan University and Taiwan Normal University who came from the island respectively sang classic excerpts of Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera. Li Chengying, a member of the Peking Opera Society at National Taiwan University who visited Jiangsu for the first time, self studied Peking Opera for over three years out of interest. After taking the stage at the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall, she was excited. Singing here has a feeling of echoing ancient and modern times, and I hope to have more opportunities to learn and exchange ideas
