2024-07-25

Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, said on the 24th that up to now, more than 50 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the 7th China Import Expo, including Norway, Benin, Burundi, the United Nations Children's Fund and other countries and international organizations will participate for the first time. On July 24th, the 7th CIIE press conference was held in Shanghai. On the same day, the press conference of the 7th CIIE was held in Shanghai, photographed by Jiang Yu, a reporter from China News Service. Sun Chenghai said at the meeting that the CIIE National Exhibition has become an important platform for various countries and international organizations to showcase their comprehensive image, and many countries have participated in national exhibitions for many years in a row. The national exhibition of this year's CIIE will include the achievements of bilateral cooperation as an important exhibition content, and relevant countries and international organizations have already started organizing participation. According to Ye Jian, Deputy Director of Shanghai Customs, in the first six sessions of the CIIE, customs supervised nearly 3000 batches of various exhibits with a value of over 1 billion US dollars. This year, the customs will continue to strongly support the work related to the 7th CIIE, proposing 18 facilitation measures. The support measures proposed in previous CIIEs have been continued, such as allowing exhibits to be transferred to special supervision zones after exhibitions, supporting the normalization of year-round bonded exhibition transactions, and allowing animal and plant products that have not been granted quarantine access to participate in exhibitions after special approval. Ye Jian revealed that the customs has added a special support measure this year: simplifying the certificate requirements for some products participating in exhibitions. For exhibition foods of animal and plant origin that have eliminated the risk of animal and plant epidemic transmission, they are exempt from providing official health certificates or animal and plant quarantine certificates issued by the exporting country or region. This measure will facilitate the exhibition of a wider range and more categories of exhibits, further expanding the scale effect of the CIIE. It is reported that the 7th CIIE will be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th this year. As of now, the contracted exhibition area for enterprise commercial exhibitions has exceeded 360000 square meters. The work of organizing trading groups and professional audiences is accelerating, and the progress is faster than the same period last year. It is expected that more professional audiences will participate in this year's CIIE. (New Society)
