Establishment of Beidou UAV Operational Performance Testing System in Complex Environments

The reporter recently learned from the China Electric Power Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "China Electric Power Research Institute") that the Intelligent Inspection Technology Research Laboratory of the High Voltage Institute and the Beidou Quality Inspection Center of the Institute of Information and Communications Technology have made important progress in the deep integration of drone technology and Beidou satellite navigation system, successfully completing 33 comprehensive inspections of Beidou drones. This marks the establishment of a performance testing system for Beidou unmanned aerial vehicles in complex environments. In recent years, China's energy transformation and the construction of new power systems have accelerated. Drones, as the most powerful technical means of line inspection, can improve the efficiency of power grid operation and maintenance, reduce manual risks, and have become an indispensable tool for grassroots teams. With the global networking of the Beidou satellite navigation system, drone positioning services are becoming more accurate and reliable, which brings more possibilities for the innovative application of drone technology in the power industry. Shao Guiwei, the head of the Intelligent Inspection Technology Research Office at the High Voltage Institute of China Electric Power Research Institute, stated that this joint inspection aims to comprehensively evaluate the comprehensive performance of Beidou unmanned aerial vehicles in power inspection scenarios, ensuring that Beidou unmanned aerial vehicles can stably and efficiently complete tasks under various complex environmental conditions. The testing content covers multiple key performance indicators of unmanned aerial vehicles, such as communication capability, satellite capture and tracking capability, positioning accuracy, and environmental adaptability. The testing environment is highly consistent with the real environment, and each test strictly follows industry standards and specifications, striving for objective and accurate results. It is reported that this inspection introduces the "dual reporting" and "dual recognition" mechanism of Beidou module and drone performance testing, which can not only verify the performance testing and certification of a single Beidou module, but also verify the coordination effect between Beidou module and other modules of the drone, enhance the authority and credibility of the inspection results, and accelerate the promotion and application of new technologies and products.
