After the Astana Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in July this year, China officially took over the rotating presidency of the organization from 2024 to 2025 and will host the summit in 2025 as usual. Mao Ning said that since its establishment, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has always adhered to the "Shanghai Spirit", continuously consolidated political mutual trust, continuously enhanced neighborly friendship, jointly safeguarded regional security, effectively strengthened pragmatic cooperation, and continuously improved its influence, cohesion, and appeal. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has expanded from its initial six members to a "SCO family" consisting of 26 countries, becoming the largest and most populous comprehensive regional cooperation organization in the world today. It has embarked on a path of peaceful development through win-win cooperation, set an example for building a new type of international relations, and made important theoretical and practical explorations for building a community with a shared future for mankind. Mao Ning stated that China will further strengthen cooperation in political, security, economic, and cultural fields with its SCO partners in the next year, fully leveraging the important role of the SCO as a security barrier, cooperation bridge, friendly bond, and constructive force in the region.
