She is a princess of the Han court, coming from Chang'an; She is the Queen of Changsha, assisting in the defense of southern Xinjiang. On the evening of July 22nd, the special exhibition "She Comes from Chang'an - Yuyang Queen of Han Changsha and Her Era" opened at the Changsha Museum, showcasing nearly 200 precious cultural relics from cultural and museum units in Hunan, Xi'an, Xuzhou and other places, including gold, silver, jade, bronze, lacquered wood, pottery, etc. This exhibition showcases nearly 200 precious cultural relics, including gold and silver, jade, bronze, lacquered wood, pottery, and more. In 1993, archaeologists salvaged a large vertical pit tomb from the early Western Han Dynasty in Wangchengpo Ancient Tomb Embankment, Yuelu District, Changsha City. It was named one of the "Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries in China" in 1993. This tomb of the Yuyang Queen of Changsha in the Western Han Dynasty adopts a yellow sausage burial system, with a huge scale and magnificent atmosphere, like an "underground palace". This exhibition is divided into three units, starting from the tomb of Queen Yuyang in Changsha during the Western Han Dynasty. Combining the latest research results on unearthed cultural relics in Changsha in recent years, nearly 200 precious cultural relics have been carefully selected and presented through a combination of "physical display+digital exhibition items", striving to restore the style and achievements of that era. The "Yuyang" theme exhibited in the exhibition is a collection of pieces. The first unit, "Princess Leaving the Han Dynasty: Yuyang Queen," introduced the archaeological excavation process of the Yuyang Tomb. Through the unearthed cultural relics such as the carved "Yuyang" inscription on the wood, the "Changsha Houfu" seal mud, and the "Your Majesty's Gift" wooden board, the mystery of the tomb owner's identity was revealed. The second unit "Assisting in Defending Southern Xinjiang · Han Changsha Kingdom" relies on major archaeological achievements of Han Changsha Kingdom and combines literature materials to deeply analyze the responsibility and mission of Queen Yuyang in maintaining national unity and political stability. The third unit "Interpreting the Great Han Style: Her Era" focuses on the era of the life of the Queen of Yuyang. From exquisite costumes and utensils to entertainment and leisure, from exquisite craftsmanship to outstanding artistic concepts, it reproduces the vibrant daily life of the aristocrats in Changsha during the Han Dynasty, allowing visitors to appreciate the highly brilliant local civilization of Changsha during the Chu and Han Dynasties. It is worth mentioning that in addition to physical displays, the exhibition hall can also see digital exhibition items using various technological means such as unmanned aerial vehicle surveying, 3D laser scanning, 3D modeling, animation production, multimedia display, etc. Visitors can have a more intuitive and vivid understanding of the structure and layout of the Yuyang Queen's Tomb, as well as the living scenes of the Han Dynasty. This exhibition is open to the public for free and will continue until February 16, 2025. During this period, the Changsha Museum will also hold themed activities such as Hanfu Show, Han music performance, flash mob events, expert guided tours, a series of themed lectures, youth courses, customized postcard check-in and stamping, etc., allowing visitors to enter the Han territory, wear Hanfu, listen to Han music, and enjoy Han dance while watching the exhibition and experiencing history. They will "travel" to the Han Changsha Kingdom more than two thousand years ago, and have an intimate encounter with the profound Han culture and ordinary Han life. (New Society)
