On the 18th, it was learned from the Ministry of Emergency Management that although the overall rainfall in the Huang Huai region has weakened, the main rain belt still remains along the line from the Sichuan Basin to the Huang Huai region, with overlapping rainfall areas, and the flood prevention situation remains severe. On the same day, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Office dispatched a working group to Shaanxi to assist in guiding flood prevention and disaster relief work. On the 18th, the General Office of National Flood Control and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to organize joint consultations on flood prevention among meteorological, water conservancy, natural resources, housing and urban-rural development departments. Video scheduling was conducted in seven provinces including Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shaanxi to arrange and deploy flood prevention and disaster relief work in key areas. The relevant person in charge of the Emergency Management Department pointed out in the consultation that it is necessary to attach great importance to the prevention and response of river floods, fully play the role of flood control engineering in blocking floods and peak periods, and effectively strengthen the inspection and defense of over alert embankments and over flood limit reservoirs. We must continue to strengthen the work measures for weak links such as floods in small and medium-sized rivers, flood control in small and medium-sized reservoirs, mountain floods and geological disasters, and urban and rural waterlogging, and decisively transfer the threatened population. In response to the severe rainstorm and flood disasters in Baoji, Shaanxi Province and other places, the Office of the National Committee for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief, the Emergency Management Department, together with the State Food and Materials Reserve Bureau, allocated 55000 pieces of relief tents, folding beds, summer quilts, quilts, family emergency kits, mobile lighting equipment and other central relief materials for resettlement, to support the local authorities to do a good job in the emergency relocation of disaster victims and basic living assistance. At the request of the Henan Provincial Flood Control Bureau, the National Flood Control Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the National Grain and Material Reserve Bureau, urgently allocated central emergency rescue and relief materials such as rubber boats, outboard motors, and drainage pumps to support local flood control and rescue efforts. The Emergency Management Department coordinated 442 personnel and 1258 sets of equipment for engineering rescue, safety production, and social emergency forces to carry out tasks such as embankment reinforcement, water drainage, and personnel transfer in Nanyang, Xuchang, Shangqiu, and other places in Henan Province.
