On July 17, the first instance of the Tianjin First Intermediate People's Court held a public hearing to hear the bribery case of Jiang Jie, the former member of the Party Leadership Group and vice chairman of the Xizang Autonomous Region CPPCC. The First Branch of the Tianjin People's Procuratorate charged that from 2000 to 2023, Jiang Jie, the defendant, took advantage of his position as Deputy Secretary and Head of Huangdao District Party Committee in Qingdao, Shandong Province, Secretary of Huangdao District Party Committee concurrently serving as Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Dongying Municipal Party Committee in Shandong Province, Secretary of Dongying Municipal Party Committee, member of the Party Leadership Group, Vice Chairman and Director of the Department of Transportation of the Xizang Autonomous Region Government, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the Xizang Autonomous Region, to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in administrative approval, project contracting, land transfer, job promotion and other matters, and illegally received property amounting to RMB More than 225 million yuan. The procuratorial organ requests to hold Jiang Jie criminally responsible for the crime of bribery. During the trial, the procuratorial organ presented relevant evidence, and the defendant Jiang Jie and his defense conducted cross examination. Both the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the court's supervision. Jiang Jie made his final statement and expressed remorse in court. At the end of the trial, the court announced a recess and scheduled a verdict.
