Recently, the summary work of the national level experimental teaching demonstration center in a military academy was launched. The Training Management Department of the Central Military Commission awarded plaques to 21 demonstration centers under the military academies one by one, among which 3 demonstration centers that were rated as national excellent typical cases introduced their experience and practices. This is an important measure to continue the phased summary and evaluation of last year, promote the high-quality construction of demonstration centers, and innovate the development of experimental teaching systems. It marks that the construction of national level experimental teaching demonstration centers in our military colleges has entered a stage of standardized and institutionalized development. The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center is the "national team" for cultivating innovative talents and the "leader" in experimental teaching. Since the Ministry of Education launched the selection in 2005, 21 experimental teaching centers from 11 military academies have been rated as national level experimental teaching demonstration centers. In 2023, in accordance with the unified deployment of the Ministry of Education, the Training Management Department of the Central Military Commission conducted a phased summary and evaluation of the construction of demonstration centers in military academies, and the results showed that all were qualified. In recent years, military higher education institutions have adhered to the principles of cultivating morality and educating people for war, aiming to meet the needs of preparing for war. With the construction of national level experimental teaching demonstration centers as the starting point, they have innovated teaching methods, improved experimental conditions, and focused on building high-level experimental teaching platforms to promote innovative development of experimental teaching. They have achieved fruitful results, played a significant leading and demonstrative role, and provided strong support for cultivating high-quality and specialized new military talents. It is reported that since 2018, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of the military academies has completed high-quality practical teaching tasks for about 300000 students, supported the winning of 22 first and second prizes for national teaching achievements, built 39 national first-class undergraduate courses, 10 national excellent textbooks, approved 27 research projects of the Ministry of Education, published more than 6900 high-level experimental teaching research papers, supported undergraduate students to participate in 2022 national and above discipline competitions, obtained more than 370 national patents, and 35 people have been rated as excellent teachers and teaching masters at the national and military levels. More than 310 people have won teaching competition awards, and more than 20 high-level teaching and research teams have been built and cultivated. (New Society)
