The advance command team of the 74th Group Army Task Force of the Southern Theater Command, consisting of more than 20 personnel, arrived at various points on the front line of the Dongting Lake flood control and rescue mission at 9:00 am on the 8th to conduct environmental surveys and operational deployments. After the subsequent mission officers, soldiers, and operational equipment are in place, the rescue and disaster relief mission will be quickly launched. It is reported that according to orders from superiors, the group army dispatched more than 1000 stationed training officers and soldiers, 120 vehicles, and 15 construction machinery overnight on the evening of the 7th to rush to Yueyang and Yiyang in Hunan Province to carry out emergency flood control and rescue tasks. At around 20:00 on the 7th, the task force completed pre departure preparations according to the pre order. At exactly 21:00, according to the task deployment, more than 1000 officers and soldiers, equipped with ambulances, emergency repair vehicles, assault boats, bulldozers, excavators, and other equipment, were stationed at four different locations in the two cities. They were transferred from field training points to the front line of flood control, and were transported by road to Yueyang and Yiyang cities to carry out tasks such as patrolling embankments, reinforcing dams, and restoring production and life.
