In the Yunnan Provincial Library, rare inscriptions and rubbings are digitized and uploaded to the cloud, allowing the historical and cultural information carried by the inscriptions to be preserved and no longer facing the risk of disappearing due to the erosion of time. It is reported that the province has successfully completed the digital collection of over 8000 pages of various inscriptions and rubbings, and the "Inscription and Rubbings Image Database" has basically taken shape. This work involves inscriptions covering various parts of the province, spanning from the Jin Dynasty to the Republic of China, providing first-hand materials for studying local political history, cultural customs, and other aspects of Yunnan. It is understood that the rubbings on the inscriptions in the collection of Yunnan Provincial Library cover various aspects of Yunnan's social, economic, and cultural development, such as water conservancy construction, education, historical figures, religion, and historical events. Due to uncontrollable factors such as urbanization and erosion over time, the protection of rare original monuments is particularly urgent. Yan Yanping, Director of the History and Literature Department of Yunnan Provincial Library, introduced that in order to protect rare stone inscriptions scattered throughout the province, protection personnel have been conducting stone inscription rubbings and collecting and organizing rubbings throughout the province for many years. Professional personnel have also been organized to digitize the rubbings, scan high-precision images, and perform metadata indexing. Digital images of the Qing Dynasty's "Book of Poetry Stele on Journey to Xishan". "The image database of inscriptions and rubbings is an important component of the construction of Yunnan ancient books' digital resource library." Yan Yanping said that in the future, Yunnan ancient book protection workers will continue to increase their efforts to search for local surviving inscriptions, and strive to ensure the preservation of precious information through rubbings and digital means.
