"Judicial Support for the Construction of International Commercial Arbitration Centers" and Successful Symposium

In order to accelerate the construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Center and enhance the international credibility and influence of arbitration in China, the Supreme People's Court and the Ministry of Justice jointly held a judicial and arbitration training session on July 3, with the theme of "Judicial Support for the Construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Center". The symposium was chaired by Professor Huang Jin from the Institute of Comprehensive Rule of Law at China University of Political Science and Law. Xi Xiangyang, a second level senior judge of the Civil Fourth Division of the Supreme People's Court, based on the functions of the court, explained from two dimensions of conceptual improvement and path construction why the people's court should support and safeguard the construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Center, and how to better support and safeguard the construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Center. Huang Xin, Vice President of the Maritime and Maritime Trial Division of the Shanghai Higher People's Court, introduced the basic situation of the construction of the Shanghai International Commercial Arbitration Center, the judicial experience of the Shanghai Court's active support for arbitration innovation and internationalization, and looked forward to the future direction of the construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Center. Professor Liu Jingdong, Director of the International Economic Law Department at the Institute of International Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, introduced the relevant research opinions on establishing an evaluation system for international commercial arbitration centers and expressed expectations and confidence for the future development of China's arbitration industry. Cao Lijun, partner and arbitrator of Beijing Zhonglun Law Firm, combined with overseas arbitration practice experience, specifically introduced the characteristics of the legal software environment construction and hardware construction of international arbitration centers in various countries.
