The core knowledge consists of 8 articles and 64 words, for promotion and use in various regions. 1、 Correct understanding and prevention of weight are important indicators for objectively evaluating the nutritional and health status of the human body. Overweight or underweight can have adverse effects on health. We should adhere to the principle of prevention first, and prevent overweight, obesity, and underweight from occurring through healthy lifestyles such as reasonable diet and scientific exercise. 2、 Lifelong management and consistent maintenance of a healthy weight can reduce the risk of related diseases. Maintaining a healthy weight should be a goal for the entire population, and should run through the entire life cycle of pre pregnancy, pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. 3、 Active monitoring, reasonable evaluation, and regular monitoring of changes in weight, waist circumference, and weight status are important measures to maintain a healthy weight. Body mass index (BMI) is a commonly used standard to measure the degree of obesity and thinness in the human body, calculated by dividing weight (kg) by the square of height (m2). According to the current industry standard for adult weight determination (WS/T 428-2013), the body mass index of Chinese adults should be maintained at 18.5 ≤ BMI < 24.0, BMI < 18.5 indicates underweight, 24.0 ≤ BMI < 28.0 indicates overweight, and BMI ≥ 28.0 indicates obesity. Adult males with a waist circumference of ≥ 90 centimeters and females with a waist circumference of ≥ 85 centimeters are classified as central obesity, while 85 centimeters ≤ males with a waist circumference of<90 centimeters and 80 centimeters ≤ females with a waist circumference of<85 centimeters are classified as central obesity in the early stages. 4、 A balanced diet and total control of healthy weight depend on the balance between energy intake and energy expenditure. On the basis of controlling total energy, maintaining a balanced dietary pattern and long-term adherence is the key to maintaining a healthy weight. 5、 Exercise is beneficial, and the key lies in adhering to long-term scientific exercise, which is beneficial for maintaining weight and improving body composition (including water, protein, fat, and minerals). Aerobic, resistance, and high-intensity interval exercise can all help control weight. Moderate to high-intensity exercise helps with weight management. 6、 Good sleep, positive mindset. Insufficient or excessive sleep is not conducive to weight control and physical health. The recommended sleep duration varies among different age groups, and good sleep should be maintained according to relevant standards. Weight is also related to a person's psychological state, and maintaining a good psychological state helps maintain a healthy weight. 7、 Reasonable goals and scientific weight loss. The main goal of weight loss for overweight and obese individuals is to reduce the weight of adipose tissue. When setting weight loss goals, it is important to act within one's capacity and not too quickly. Generally, it is possible to reduce weight by 5% to 10% within 3-6 months at a rate of no more than 0.5 kilograms per week, or set reasonable goals under the guidance of professionals to scientifically control weight. 8、 Working together, everyone is the first person responsible for their own health. Individuals should develop healthy habits of self-discipline, actively learn about healthy weight knowledge, practice a healthy lifestyle, and do a good job in weight management. (Lai Xin She)
