2024-07-03
This year marks the 10th anniversary of China's successful application for World Heritage on the Grand Canal. In order to coordinate the protection, inheritance, and utilization of the Grand Canal, the Judicial Protection Base of the Grand Canal (Hangzhou section) was recently unveiled and established in Linping District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The Grand Canal has flowed for thousands of years, nourishing cities along the route. The seven courts along the Grand Canal, including Shangcheng District, Gongshu District, Binjiang District, Xiaoshan District, Yuhang District, Qiantang District, and Linping District, in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, have reached a consensus on judicial coordination and protection. Through strengthening cooperation in judicial affairs, promoting the unity of judicial rules, promoting the sharing of judicial resources, and jointly carrying out legal publicity, they are working together to build a strong barrier for judicial protection of the Grand Canal. It is reported that the Hangzhou Court has jointly built the Judicial Protection Base for the Grand Canal (Hangzhou section), aiming to jointly create a judicial protection matrix for the Grand Canal. With the principle of "integrated protection, one-stop service, resource sharing, and coordinated development", it uses the strictest system and the strictest rule of law to protect the ecological environment of the Grand Canal basin. The seven courts in the region cooperate in three aspects: trial affairs, judgment rules, and coordination between the government and the court, adhering to the integrated protection of the ecological environment, natural resources, and cultural and tourism development in the Grand Canal Basin; Improve the system of cross regional filing, explore the integrated handling of major cross regional cases, mutual assistance and delegation of judicial affairs, and continuously enhance the capacity and level of judicial services; Strengthen organizational coordination, innovate collaboration methods, fully leverage the advantages of judicial resources in various urban areas, and unify judgment standards and scales; Strengthen the sharing and sharing of judicial resources and information, promote the coordinated development of judicial services and guarantees in various regions, and achieve seamless connection of judicial protection in the Grand Canal within the region. In addition, the seven courts will deepen the collaboration between the government and the court, establish a three in one joint case handling model of "administrative law enforcement+criminal, civil, and judicial+ecological restoration", and promote effective connection between administrative law enforcement, civil compensation, and ecological restoration.
