Hungary took over as the rotating presidency of the European Union on July 1st for a period of six months. Hungary announced its slogan during its presidency of the European Union last week - "Let Europe once again be great.". According to Hungary's EU Affairs Minister Boko, Hungary will set seven priorities during its presidency, including strengthening EU competitiveness, strengthening European defense policies, EU expansion, curbing illegal immigration, strengthening EU cohesion, developing a farmer oriented EU agricultural policy, and addressing population challenges in Europe. Boko stated that these priorities identified by Hungary reflect the will of voters in the recent European Parliament elections, that Europe needs to change.
