Meng Pu introduced that at this year's MWC Barcelona, Qualcomm's new 5G modem and RF system, the Snapdragon X80, integrates a dedicated 5G AI processor and 5G Advanced ready architecture, achieving multiple global pioneering milestones, including the first support for 6-way reception for smartphones and the first downlink six carrier aggregation. It will bring a new level of 5G performance and experience to the entire industry. "A few days ago, we also completed the on-site verification of 5G Advanced high and low frequency NR-CA new technology for the first time using a smartphone form terminal equipped with Snapdragon X80, achieving a single user downlink peak speed of over 8.5Gbps, providing an immersive experience for high bandwidth new services such as XR and naked eye 3D, and also providing valuable experience and demonstration for the development and application of 5G Advanced technology." "With the scale expansion of generative AI, various types of terminals within reach are becoming important carriers." In the speech, Meng Pu shared the achievements of Qualcomm and its partners in exploring the application of AI in various terminals. In terms of smartphones, in October last year, Qualcomm launched its first mobile platform specifically designed for generative AI - the third-generation Snapdragon 8. With its powerful AI capabilities and multiple leading features, more than 20 commercial terminals equipped with the top Snapdragon flagship mobile platform have been launched in China, and more new phones will be released one after another, opening a new AI based upgrade cycle for the smartphone market. Generative AI also injects new growth momentum into the PC market. Qualcomm has successively released Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus platforms, bringing the world's fastest NPU to PCs with up to 45 TOPS of computing power. Just last month, Qualcomm teamed up with Microsoft and numerous ecosystem partners to launch the first batch of over 20 Windows 11 AI PCs exclusively supported by the Snapdragon X series. At present, based on the Snapdragon 8295 cockpit platform, including multiple car manufacturers such as Ideal, Xiaopeng, and Jiyue, they have released their car end large model functions; With the development of multimodal technology, generative AI is expected to open up new application spaces for fields such as intelligent cabins and autonomous driving. Meng Pu introduced that at the beginning of this year, Qualcomm joined forces with China Mobile, ZTE Communications, and popular Qitian to complete the industry's first 5G Advanced multi concurrency large space XR competitive gaming business pilot. Using a test terminal equipped with Qualcomm's solution, when 12 XR businesses are connected simultaneously in a large space of nearly a thousand square meters, the screen is clear and smooth without lag, and the average air port delay is less than 10ms. With the advantages of no backpack, no cables, and supporting over 50 XR users online simultaneously, this solution has also been awarded the GTI Mobile Innovation Service Application Award, accelerating the implementation of XR scenario based applications.
