On June 26th, the 2024 aerial seeding afforestation work in Luoyang City was fully launched. It is understood that this year, the aerial seeding afforestation task in Luoyang City covers 39000 acres and is carried out through a combination of helicopters and drones, involving counties and districts such as Song County, Ruyang, Yanshi, and Mengjin. The aerial seeding areas are mainly concentrated in ecological conservation areas, water source protection areas, and other areas. According to the principle of ecological priority and suitable location and trees, the main tree species used in the aerial seeding forest area this time are local tree species with strong adaptability and high germination rate, such as Forsythia suspensa, Platycladus orientalis, Ailanthus altissima, Chinese tallow, white elm, and Acer truncatum. It is reported that Luoyang has been the first in the province to carry out aerial seeding afforestation since 1979. Over the past 40 years, Luoyang City has continuously implemented over 3 million mu of aerial seeding afforestation projects, with a total of over 1 million mu of forest.
