The men's court robe with bright red silk and golden dragon patterns is woven using the silk cutting technique to create clear and exquisite patterns such as blue and green auspicious clouds, golden dragon patterns, fire beads, and seawater river cliffs; The stone blue satin embroidered cloud gold dragon pattern jacket is adorned with colorful silk and gold threads, with exquisite embroidery and bright colors; The moon colored satin, gold and silver embroidered narcissus longevity pattern cloak is adorned with flowers and auspicious patterns, elegant and elegant. Entering the Jiade Art Center in Beijing, the recently launched "National Collection and Palace Colors - Qing Dynasty Palace Embroidery Clothing Color Exhibition" showcases nearly a hundred rare Qing Dynasty palace embroidery clothing and related exhibits collected by the Palace Museum in Shenyang, as if opening up the Qing Dynasty palace wardrobe for the audience and allowing them to see the charm and style of Chinese embroidery. When we appreciate a piece of clothing, the first thing that catches our eyes is its color. I believe attentive viewers have noticed that almost all traditional Chinese woven and embroidered clothing in the exhibition hall is named with color names as prefixes, supplemented by explanations of their craftsmanship, materials, and decorative categories. The importance of color in Chinese clothing is evident Zhu Hongwen, Vice President of the Palace Museum, stated that in traditional Chinese culture, color has rich symbolic significance, and the Qing court integrated the cultural characteristics of multiple ethnic groups such as Manchu, Han, Mongolian, and Tibetan in the use of color. From the fragrant colors of the early Qing Dynasty, the sky blue during the Kangxi period, and the auspicious colors during the Qianlong period, to the rose red in the mid Qing Dynasty and the green lotus purple in the late Qing Dynasty, the court dress colors of the Qing Dynasty not only had a complete system, but also underwent continuous changes and renovations in popular colors, presenting a rich artistic appearance. The magnificent and unparalleled Qing court costumes not only reflect the etiquette system and social order of that time, but also reflect the philosophical idea of the unity of heaven and man, highlighting the atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture. The colors of the country and the palace are precious legacies of traditional Chinese weaving and embroidery techniques, waiting for people to inherit and promote them. The exhibition will continue until September 22nd. (Lai Xin She)
