Baby, these small medicines need to be prepared to attract mosquitoes

2024-06-26

In summer, there are gradually more mosquitoes, and babies are favored by mosquitoes due to their higher body temperature compared to adults. If they are not careful, they are more likely to be bitten by mosquitoes. If it is just a rash caused by ordinary mosquito bites, medication treatment can be given according to different periods of time. Today, the doctor will talk to parents about the treatment and prevention methods of insect bite dermatitis. In the initial stage, three types of drugs can be chosen to apply externally. The rash caused by mosquito bites on the skin is medically called "papular urticaria", which usually forms a local, patchy swelling accompanied by a raised papule in the middle. When touched, there is a bump in the middle that touches the hand, and even protrusions, blisters, ruptures, and exudates. This type of rash is usually accompanied by abnormal itching, but it is generally self limiting and can self scab and resolve within 1 to 2 weeks. In the early stages of mosquito bites, Zhonglou Detoxification Tincture can be applied externally twice a day. Chonglou Jiedu Tincture has the effects of clearing heat, detoxifying, dispersing blood stasis, and relieving pain. It is commonly used in the treatment of skin itching and insect bite dermatitis. This medicine is for external use and should not be taken orally. If left for a long time, there may be a small amount of sediment. It should be shaken well before use. Daily storage should be kept in a cool place (not exceeding 20 ℃). During the redness and swelling period, a mixture of two types of ointments can be applied externally. Mopirocin ointment and mometasone furoate cream can be mixed in a 1:1 ratio, applied externally twice a day for 3-5 consecutive days. Alternatively, use calamine detergent multiple times a day and apply at any time. Mopirocin ointment is a topical antibiotic suitable for skin infections caused by Gram positive bacteria. This medication is only for skin administration and should not be used on mucous membranes such as the eyes, nose, and mouth. Momosone furoate cream is a topical glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, anti allergic, anti itch, and exudative reducing effects. It is commonly used in eczema, atopic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and skin itching, and is contraindicated when the skin is damaged. If there is a burning sensation, redness, skin discoloration, or worsening rash at the medication site, please stop taking the medication immediately and wash the local medication thoroughly. If necessary, seek medical attention at the hospital. The calamine detergent contains calamine and zinc oxide, which have astringent and protective effects, as well as weak anti-corrosion effects. It is commonly used in acute itchy skin diseases such as eczema and prickly heat, and also has a certain effect on the itching caused by mosquito bites. Note that this medicine is not suitable for skin with exudate. Shake well before use. Severe ulceration period: Mupirocin ointment, three times a day. In addition, if there is obvious itching and symptoms of dermatitis after mosquito bites, oral medication can be added. Cetirizine or loratadine can be taken. Cetirizine and loratadine are both antihistamines and antiallergic drugs. Although cetirizine has fewer adverse reactions, it still has a central inhibitory effect in clinical use. Children under 1 year old are most susceptible to damage to the central nervous system, and there is no clinical trial data for children under 1 year old. It is recommended to avoid using cetirizine in children under 1 year old as much as possible. Attention: If redness, swelling, fever, or pain occur, please seek medical attention from a reputable hospital in a timely manner. Tips for summer mosquito prevention: 1. Turn on the air conditioning to avoid mosquito bites as much as possible. Mosquitoes are generally below 26 ℃, and their ability to bite people decreases. 2. Use mosquito nets for children while sleeping. 3. Wear breathable long sleeved clothes, pants, and socks when going out, with the pants legs tucked into the socks. 4. Avoid staying in damp and hot grass. 5. Carry a fan with you when going out and continuously drive away mosquitoes and insects around your baby. (Lai Xin She)
