Publishing the People's Education Press "Dream of the Red Chamber" tailored for primary and secondary school students can play an important role in helping them inherit and understand excellent traditional Chinese culture, and cultivate cultural confidence. Professor Zhang Jun, a renowned expert in Redology and professor at Beijing Normal University, provided a detailed introduction to the origin, selection, and main features of the compilation of the People's Education Press's "Dream of Red Mansions". He pointed out that a set of 120 volumes of "Dream of the Red Chamber" suitable for middle school students can help them better enter this encyclopedia style masterpiece, enhance literary and cultural literacy, cultivate imagination, and develop aesthetic abilities. Professor Cao Libo, the leading expert in the proofreading and commentary of the People's Education Press version of "Dream of the Red Chamber", and a professor from Central University for Nationalities, provided a detailed introduction to the proofreading process of the People's Education Press version of "Dream of the Red Chamber". She introduced that the People's Education Press version of "Dream of the Red Chamber" carefully annotated the difficult words, historical vocabulary, and cultural allusions in the original work, and combined with the latest research results to analyze and explain some controversial content, helping readers better understand the classics. Experts believe that "Dream of the Red Chamber" is long and there are indeed certain difficulties in reading, but teachers should not be afraid of difficulties. The book is based on the wooden version of the Cuiwen Bookstore in the 56th year of the Qianlong reign (also known as the "Cheng Jia version"), and took four years to complete the proofreading and annotation work.
