The new energy system has become a keyword in the energy field in recent years, so where is the specific "new" of the new energy system? On the 20th, Zhang Jianhua, Director of the National Energy Administration, gave a detailed explanation at the "Promoting High Quality Development" series of themed press conferences held by the State Council Information Office. Zhang Jianhua said that building a new energy system is an inevitable choice to ensure national energy security. In recent years, the National Energy Administration has continuously deepened its understanding of the new energy system, promoted the implementation of various tasks and measures, and made positive progress in the construction of the new energy system, mainly reflected in four aspects: a greener energy structure. In recent years, the supply of non fossil energy in China has accelerated, with an average annual increase of 1.4 times in the first three years of the 14th Five Year Plan compared to the 13th Five Year Plan, promoting an average annual increase of 0.7 percentage points in the proportion of non fossil energy consumption. The installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation has historically surpassed that of thermal power generation. ——Supply resilience is stronger. In 2023, the total production of primary energy such as coal and oil and gas was 4.83 billion tons of standard coal. At present, the installed power generation capacity in China exceeds 3 billion kilowatts. In recent years, crude oil production has remained stable at the level of 200 million tons, and natural gas production has increased by over 10 billion cubic meters annually for seven consecutive years since 2017. The ability to regulate energy reserves continues to improve. ——The industrial system is more "new". The new energy power generation technology remains world leading, and the "new three types" such as photovoltaic cells have become the "new business card" of China's foreign trade exports. The first commercial demonstration project for high-temperature gas cooled reactors has been completed and put into operation. New models and formats continue to emerge, and smart microgrids promote the integrated development of "source network load storage". Virtual power plants guide power users to efficiently and actively participate in demand response. ——The foundation of governance is more solid. The construction of a multi-level unified electricity market system is steadily advancing, the regulatory system for natural monopolies in the energy sector is becoming more sound, and policy mechanisms such as green power certificates and the weight of renewable energy consumption responsibilities are being deeply implemented.
