On June 20th, Wang Ning, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, visited the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee to conduct research and chaired a special meeting to discuss and deploy further efforts to improve religious work. The meeting listened to the report on the religious work in the province, studied and deployed key tasks, affirmed the achievements of recent work, and proposed requirements for the next step of work. We must strengthen the leadership of the Party over religious work, always regard religious work as an important task that affects the overall situation, promote the construction of a religious affairs governance pattern with Party committee leadership, government management, social coordination, and religious self-discipline, and make unremitting and long-term efforts. We should adhere to the orientation of Chinese religion, promote religious circles and believers' recognition of the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the CPC, and socialism with Chinese characteristics, and actively guide religions to adapt to socialist society. We should improve the rule of law in the governance of religious affairs, strengthen the management of religious affairs on the Internet, cultivate the "three teams", strengthen the self construction of religious circles, do a good job in the work of religious believers, and unite the vast number of religious people and religious believers around the Party and the government. We need to deepen the promotion of grassroots party building and religious governance, give full play to the political, management, and service functions of grassroots party organizations, and ensure that work is carried out at the grassroots level and at ordinary times. We should summarize and promote effective experiences and practices formed in grassroots practice, and continuously achieve new results in the governance of religious affairs throughout the province.
