2024-06-21
On June 20, 2023, the on-site evaluation activity for the excellent social governance suggestions of the national procuratorial organs was held at the Shanghai branch of the National Prosecutor's College. Shi Weizhong, a deputy ministerial level full-time member of the Procuratorial Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, attended the meeting and emphasized the need to adhere to quality first, better play the role of procuratorial suggestions in helping to improve social governance efficiency, promote the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, continue to closely monitor and follow the implementation, and promote the transformation of procuratorial suggestions from "handling" to "handling". The procuratorial organs should adhere to a political perspective and focus on the rule of law, issue high-quality and efficient social governance procuratorial suggestions, promote the resolution of deep-seated social governance issues discovered in case handling, and promote higher-level source of litigation governance. This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the Supreme People's Procuratorate has carried out the selection of outstanding social governance procuratorial suggestions for the national procuratorial organs. After initial review and reexamination, 25 prosecutorial suggestions stood out from 157 prosecutorial suggestions submitted from all over the country. After on-site evaluation, 20 prosecutorial suggestions for excellent social governance in the national procuratorial organs for the year 2023 were produced. Fourteen members, including Xu Zhong, a National People's Congress representative, Ding Guanghong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, officials and experts from relevant departments of the central government, the Rule of Law Daily, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and East China University of Political Science and Law, as well as officials from the Supreme People's Procuratorate and some provincial government departments, served as judges.
