Recently, at the site of the shantytown renovation project in Huangbuling District, Jiaozhou City, Qingdao, Shandong Province, residential building No. 3 is rising from the ground. Surprisingly, there are fewer construction workers in this building compared to other buildings, but the work efficiency is very high. "Our independently developed 'Tianchan' residential construction robot system has played a significant role." Huang Yunchang, the technical director of China Construction Eighth Bureau, the project contractor, told reporters that the "Tianchan" residential construction robot system integrates traditional construction processes, greatly improving construction efficiency and safety. Huang Yunchang introduced that "Tianchan" is an integrated construction system for the buildings being built. Within the system, automated robots with different division of labor are suspended on precision tracks at the top of the space, while workers assist in operations at the bottom. The human-machine collaboration completes various construction processes such as laying out, binding steel bars, supporting formwork, pouring, vibration, and maintenance, achieving streamlined operations. At the construction site of the project, the reporter saw a blue "hat" covering the roof from a distance. "That's the 'Tianchan' system. It can cover the entire construction site and achieve automatic crawling." Huang Yunchang pointed to the 'hat' on the roof and told reporters that as the construction progress progressed, the 'Tianchan' had climbed to a height of 23 meters. After the completion of the construction task on this floor, the 'Tianchan' system can accurately climb to a higher level in just one hour. Compared with traditional construction methods, this system reduces labor costs by more than 50%, shortens construction period by about 30%, and the fastest construction speed can reach 5 days per floor Huang Yunchang said. The high-quality and efficient operation of the "Tianchan" system is attributed to its "smart brain" and "flexible limbs", which are intelligent control systems and robot clusters formed by technologies such as BIM, virtual reality, and the Internet of Things. The equipment intelligence rate of the system in the main process exceeds 60%. "The distributed intelligent construction system pioneered by 'Tianchan' integrates intelligent equipment such as concrete vibration robots, leveling robots, film covering robots, and chiseling robots on a standardized integrated base. Under the unified allocation of the intelligent control system, the machine population cooperates with the intelligent material distribution system, high-precision laying system, automatic spraying system, material lifting system, and intelligent monitoring system to efficiently achieve construction goals." Huang Yunchang said. To improve the safety of high-altitude operations, the "Tianchan" system adopts a hanging frame and enclosure system. When facing adverse weather, the folding canopy at the top of the system can cover the entire working surface, providing workers with a comfortable working space. In addition, the system also adopts standardized component design and modular assembly mode, which can be easily installed and disassembled like building blocks for turnover and utilization, helping to save resources and protect the environment. "The application of the 'Tianchan' system is an important practice for us to build a digital intelligent construction site application technology system." Ding Hao, the person in charge of the Fourth Company of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, said. It is reported that the Huangbuling shantytown renovation project, which utilizes the "Tianchan" system, has a planned construction area of 203100 square meters. The project land will mainly be used for the construction of residential buildings, service buildings, parking lots and other public facilities, as well as supporting facilities such as water supply and drainage.
