On June 16th, the "Jingbo Craftsman" 2024 Beijing Cultural Relics Industry Vocational Skills Competition, jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics and Beijing United University, was held at the Beijing Wooden Structure Ancient Architecture Protection Research and Experimental Base, with 254 participants participating. The theme of this competition is "Cultivating Talents with Craftsmanship and Building Dreams in a New Era". It has been officially included in the 6th Beijing Vocational Skills Competition and is under the jurisdiction of the vocational skills track in the field of cultural heritage. It has been upgraded to a first-class competition at the municipal level. Six competitions have been included in the vocational skills competition industry competition, covering three major cultural and museum professional fields: cultural relics protection, museums, and archaeology. The organizing committee of the competition strictly sets competition regulations, refines the competition process, improves competition standards and organization. The judging team is composed of 19 experts from the cultural relics industry in the capital who have undertaken national competition judging tasks. They strictly follow the National Vocational Skills Standards for Cultural Relics Restorers and the practical requirements of cultural relics protection work in the new era, and scientifically and normatively formulate competition rules, scoring standards, and competition questions. It is reported that as a platform for talent cultivation and exchange, this competition revolves around the "Jingbo Craftsman" project in the "14th Five Year Plan for Cultural and Museum Talent Training" of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage. Through a combination of competition and training, it fully leverages the role of "promoting learning through competition, training through competition, evaluation through competition, and construction through competition", in order to promote the cultivation of vocational and skilled talents in the cultural and museum field. At the competition site, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage organized a symposium between Beijing United University and 16 enterprises and institutions in the cultural and museum industry in Beijing. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the construction of industry university research bases, talent cultivation for cultural heritage protection and inheritance, and joint research on key technologies in the field of cultural heritage, providing a platform for mutual knowledge exchange between supply and demand and promoting the integration of industry and academia in the cultural and museum field. After intense competition, a total of 18 outstanding individuals and 8 outstanding organization awards were awarded in this competition. It is reported that the top five participants in the five competitions can upgrade to obtain the certificate of cultural relic restoration technician, and the top three participants in the archaeological excavation competition can obtain the certificate of advanced worker.
