2024-06-18
On June 17th, the reporter learned from the Huawei Research Institute in Suzhou that at the just held RedCap (5G Lightweight) Industry Summit, Huawei joined hands with three major operators to release the RedCap Long Term Stability Standard. As a key component of 5G networks, the release of this standard means that it will provide a more solid foundation for intelligent connectivity in the 5G era. The commercial use of 5G has entered its fifth year and is showing a vigorous development trend in the vast toC and toB markets such as visual connectivity, vehicle connectivity, industrial energy, and consumer electronics. Huawei's Vice President of Wireless Network Product Line stated that RedCap is the best carrier for medium and high-speed IoT, and is expected to accelerate the lightweight deployment and large-scale development of 5G applications. Jiangsu has become one of the regions with the richest application scenarios for RedCap. At the end of last year, Jiangsu Mobile launched 5G lightweight technology on 12000 5G base stations in the province, taking the lead in achieving continuous coverage of redcap in county-level and above cities nationwide, and installing a new digital engine for industrial transformation and upgrading in the province. The recently released data shows that among the first batch of 300 5G factories in China, there are 97 in Jiangsu. (Lai Xin She)
