Yang Xinyu, Permanent Ambassador of China to UNESCO, Qin Changwei, Secretary General of the National Committee for UNESCO, Qu Xing, Deputy Director General of UNESCO, and Stephania Janini, Assistant Director General of Education of UNESCO, all witnessed the renewal ceremony on the same day. The Great Wall Scholarship Program was jointly established by the Ministry of Education of China and UNESCO in 1994. It is reported that the validity period of this renewal memorandum is 5 years. The renewal of the agreement will further expand the global influence of the program, allowing more young scholars and researchers from developing countries, especially Africa and small island countries, to have the opportunity to study in China, deepen academic mutual learning between Chinese and foreign scholars, and promote exchanges and dialogue among different civilizations.
