Why say "this is our treasure"

2024-06-14

"These are our treasures, we must protect them well, and there are also some that require rescue protection."
"Protecting and inheriting this historical and cultural heritage is our common responsibility." "I hope everyone will continue to work hard and contribute to it for a long time, just like guarding their homes." "Promote the culture of the Great Wall, tell the story of the Great Wall well, and drive more people to understand and protect the Great Wall."
The Great Wall meanders and undulates, with a majestic momentum.
"In today's world, when people mention China, they will think of the Great Wall; when they mention Chinese civilization, they will also think of the Great Wall. The Great Wall, the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, and other important symbols of the Chinese nation are important symbols of the Chinese spirit. We must attach importance to the protection and inheritance of historical and cultural heritage, and protect the roots of the Chinese nation's spirit."
"The Great Wall is a representative symbol of the Chinese nation and an important symbol of Chinese civilization, embodying the Chinese nation's spirit of self-improvement and perseverance, as well as the patriotic sentiment of unity and perseverance."
In 2021, the "Construction and Protection Plan for the Great Wall National Cultural Park" was issued, proposing to focus on making the Great Wall National Cultural Park an important symbol of promoting national spirit and inheriting Chinese civilization.
In recent years, the General Plan for the Protection of the Great Wall and the Construction Regulations for the Great Wall Maintenance Project have been successively released, and the efforts to protect and repair the cultural relics of the Great Wall have been continuously increasing.
In July 2021, the 44th World Heritage Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization approved the report on the protection status of the Great Wall, and the Great Wall was rated as a demonstration case of world heritage protection and management by the World Heritage Committee.
The cultural heritage is intertwined with the national heritage, and the cultural heritage is connected to the national heritage. 57 World Heritage Sites, over 760000 immovable cultural relics, 108 million pieces/set of state-owned movable cultural relics... These treasures scattered throughout the land of China are important carriers of splendid civilization, inheritance of historical culture, and maintenance of national spirit.
"Only by understanding where a country comes from can we understand how it is today instead of that, and also understand where it will and will not go in the future."
"If we do not understand China from the perspective of its long-standing historical continuity, it is impossible to understand ancient China, modern China, and future China."
