In Sheyang County, Yancheng City, on the coast of the Yellow Sea, the reporter deeply felt the surging momentum of new quality productivity. Sheyang has 1.097 million mu of mudflat, and the annual average wind speed of 100 meters offshore exceeds 7.6 meters/second. It is rich in "scenery" resources. The annual power generation of solar energy, wind power and other new energy in the county is up to 3.7 billion kilowatt hours. These electricity sources have zero or near zero carbon dioxide emissions during the production process, making them more environmentally friendly and also known as green electricity. Taking advantage of its vast green power resources, Sheyang continues to increase the green content of its manufacturing industry. At the beginning of the construction of the Sheyang Port Low (Zero) Carbon Industrial Park in 2022, a differentiation strategy was chosen, targeting projects that require green electricity and green certificates and have carbon emission requirements. In the past two years, with the continuous entry of projects such as Yuanjing Energy, CRRC Times, and Tianshun Wind Energy, as well as scientific and technological innovation platforms, a full industry chain integrating wind farm development, equipment intelligent manufacturing, scientific and technological innovation research and development, testing and certification, and operation and maintenance services has gradually taken shape here. Entering the 150 meter offshore wind turbine blade intelligent manufacturing workshop of CRRC Wind Power Blade Engineering Co., Ltd. in the Sheyang Low (Zero) Carbon Industrial Park in Yancheng, the red and white wind turbine blades are arranged like feather fans, creating a magnificent sight. Here, the intelligent network system monitors energy consumption in real-time, and the surrounding street lights can also generate electricity through photovoltaics and fans, reducing the use of external electricity. Vice General Manager of the company, Hao Xiaojun, stated that the current rooftop photovoltaic power generation of the first and second phases of the company's factories reaches 14 million kilowatt hours, and this alone can reduce carbon emissions by about 3000 tons per year. "With the new requirements of export trade for product carbon comprehensive certification and carbon data management, enterprises urgently need a park with carbon footprint tracking capabilities to provide support." Standing in front of the big screen of the Intelligent IoT Digital Management Center of the Sheyang Port Zero Carbon Industry Research Institute, one can clearly see the carbon emissions of multiple enterprises in different functional areas. Qiu Lin, Chief Scientist of Vision Intelligent Zero Carbon Products, said that as the "brain" and "center" of the zero carbon industrial park, the research institute, under the leadership of authoritative certification institutions, collaborates with think tank units and leading enterprises in the park to explore the development of a carbon footprint certification and zero carbon park construction standard system that adapts to international rules, and provides one-stop services for carbon emissions, carbon footprint, and green electricity and green certificate trading for enterprises. In May of this year, the industrial park established a green electricity and green certificate service consortium to provide one-stop services for users in the park's green electricity market, promoting more settled enterprises to participate in green electricity transactions. "We strive to achieve 5 million kilowatt hours of green electricity trading and over 1000 green certificates trading throughout the year, helping to build a green, low-carbon, and circular economy system," said Chen Shuangxi, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Sheyang Port Economic Development Zone. In Sheyang, in addition to the development of the service industry, more low-carbon application scenarios are entering daily life. The exterior walls of the building are covered with surface photovoltaic panels, and the downstairs is a light storage and charging integrated carport. There are wind and solar storage integrated street lights on the roadside... At the Sheyang Port Low (Zero) Carbon Industrial Park, the reporter also experienced a new way of life. In this "zero carbon community" enterprise employee living supporting service area, almost all living scenarios can achieve direct supply of green electricity. "By constructing photovoltaic power generation projects, the zero carbon community generates 2.5 million kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, fully meeting residents' needs while also allowing for surplus electricity to be connected to the grid." Chen Shuangxi introduced to reporters while walking that the zero carbon community has built a smart IoT comprehensive management platform to analyze, warn, control, and evaluate various aspects of life, further guiding residents to develop green and low-carbon living habits. It is understood that the zero carbon community started construction in January 2023, covering an area of 75 acres. It mainly includes staff apartments, talent apartments, canteens, commercial complexes, and other ancillary facilities such as underground buildings. At present, employee apartments and canteens have been put into use, and talent apartments and commercial complexes have also been basically completed, which can accommodate more than 3500 expert talents and industrial workers. In order to meet the commuting needs of community residents, the industrial park is also equipped with a high-tech "zero carbon bus". The entire vehicle is 30 meters long, with dual front ends. Especially, it can ensure vehicle operation through rooftop photovoltaic, green charging, battery storage, and other methods. With the help of in car sensors, buses can accurately travel on established "virtual trajectories", achieving intelligent operation and making it more convenient and environmentally friendly. "Moving towards the green and pursuing our dreams in the blue ocean, we are striving to achieve the 'acceleration' of green, low-carbon, and high-quality development." Wang Ning, the county mayor of Sheyang County, said that Sheyang will anchor the path of green and low-carbon development, accelerate the construction of green electricity application demonstration areas, green industry clusters, and green standard sources, and build a hard core support for high-quality development.
