2024-06-12

On June 12th, the 2024 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day event, "Protecting Centennial Cultural Relics and Inheriting Cultural Heritage," was grandly held in Shamian. This event is hosted by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Liwan District, the Shamian Street Sub district Office of Liwan District, and the Shamian Street Public Health Committee of Liwan District. Through cultural performances, interactive Q&A sessions, and other activities, it showcases new progress and achievements in the protection and utilization of Shamian cultural relics and the preservation and inheritance of cultural heritage, allowing cultural heritage to perform a unique and exciting performance in inheritance. The on-site cultural performance, as the highlight of this event, has attracted the attention of many citizens and tourists. The art troupe of Guangzhou Judicial Vocational School and the cultural and artistic team of Liwan District Cultural Center have contributed 12 exciting programs, covering various art forms such as song and dance, drama, and recitation, showcasing the vastness and profoundness of Chinese culture from all angles and angles. These programs not only showcase the charm of traditional art, but also incorporate modern elements, allowing viewers to feel the inheritance and innovation of culture while enjoying. During the cultural performance, the organizer also set up an interactive segment for cultural relics protection and a guessing activity on the knowledge of Shamian culture and history. The cultural performance and interactive Q&A complement each other, allowing the audience to not only appreciate the art, but also participate in the Q&A process of cultural relics protection. Through the combination of education and entertainment, citizens can have a deeper understanding of the importance of cultural relics protection and the history and culture of Shamian. In addition to an exciting cultural performance, the interactive Q&A session (illustrated by Xinshe) also features multiple stalls carefully arranged at the event site, providing citizens with a series of rich and colorful cultural experience activities. The cultural relics protection related laws and regulations set up by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau in Liwan District are crowded in front of the promotion booth. The staff patiently explain the cultural relics protection regulations to the citizens, distribute promotional materials, and guide them to establish a correct concept of cultural relics protection. The promotional materials on the unit (as shown in the picture/by Xinshe) are another highlight of this event, attracting many young people to participate. The activity takes typical cultural relics and buildings of Shamian as the clue. Participants work in groups of five, holding maps and shuttling through the streets and alleys of Shamian, searching for and checking in on designated cultural relics and buildings. This is not only a challenge to physical and intellectual abilities, but also a deep experience of the history and culture of Shamen. The orienteering activity of sand noodles has a long history and profound cultural heritage, with numerous precious historical relics, buildings, and cultural heritage. Ma Shu, a neighbor of Shamian Street who participated in the event, said, "Through this event, everyone has deeply realized that every cultural relic is a witness to history and a precious resource that cannot be regenerated. We must protect them with a more positive attitude and action, so that the imprint of history can continue. In recent years, under the leadership of the Liwan District Committee and Government and the guidance of higher-level business guidance departments, Shamian Street has achieved significant results in cultural relic protection and cultural inheritance.". The holding of this Cultural and Natural Heritage Day event is not only a showcase of the protection and cultural inheritance of Shamian cultural relics, but also a powerful mobilization for the whole society to participate in the protection of cultural relics.
